Thinking of Getting a Puppy? Please try to avoid the mistake of taken the puppy to early from the breeder (this applies to any kind of breed):

Taking the puppies too early can have detrimental results.

What is the right age to take a puppy home?

8 weeks is the minimum age pups should leave for new homes. Puppies go through five critical periods...and it's very important that they remain with their mother and littermates until 8 weeks of age.

Weeks 5 through 7 they begin socialization within the litter and also with humans. At this point they are capable of responding to voices and to recognize people. Training by their mother is in progress and they are becoming aware of the differences between human and canine socialization.

Puppies that are removed from the nest too early frequently are nervous, more prone to barking and biting and have a more difficult time with socialization and training.
During the 8th through 12 weeks puppies are removed from littermates and mother. They require human socialization, love and security. Play with children should be well supervised. Puppy Kindergarten classes during this time are very important.

Border Collie Rescue Namibia

Rescue, Rehabilitate, Rehome
Border Collie Rescue Namibia is established to rescue, rehabilitate and seek suitable homes for unwanted or abandoned Border Collies.

Border Collies are one of the most intelligent and lovable breeds of dogs. They were bred to help shepherds herd many sheep at once.

Border Collies love to play, and they are a great choice for people who want an active companion. These energetic dogs are always eager to please their owners. They love to go for walks, play ball, play fetching games, and most of all they love to herd.
Their herding instincts are very apparent in the way they play and interact with people and other pets.

Smart, sweet, loyal, loving, athletic, fun and energetic. These qualities make them a wonderful addition to your life. Sadly, these qualities are also the reason many end up in rescue. A Border Collie is NOT a dog that will be content to be a couch potato.
Without enough exercise, both mental and physical, a Border Collie can become a neurotic, destructive mess. In the right home though, once you've owned a Border Collie, you're forever spoiled.
